Frequently asked questions
Straight answers about how Flux actually works — not a recap of pension law you can find anywhere.
How do I check my pension balance?
Open the Flux app. Your balance across both your short-term and long-term sub-accounts updates in real time — no waiting on a printed statement or a call to HR.
Is my money actually safe on Flux?
Your account is protected with bank-grade encryption and is only ever visible once you've signed in — nobody outside your fund's administration has access. See our Security page for the full detail.
Does the app cost me anything?
No. Flux is free for members, always. Your fund pays for administration — you never see a subscription, a per-statement fee, or an in-app charge.
Can I actually choose where my contributions are invested?
Yes — that's the difference between Flux Wealth and a standard micro-pension. You see your options in the app and decide, instead of a default fund manager deciding for you.
How do I get my contribution and benefit statements?
They live in the app, downloadable as a PDF whenever you need one — for a loan application, a tax return, or just to check in on your own progress.
I switched employers — does my account come with me?
Yes. Your Flux account isn't tied to one employer. When you move, your new contributions land in the same account your history already lives in — nothing to re-register.
How do I track a claim I've submitted?
Every claim shows its status right in the app — submitted, under review, or paid — so you're not calling the office to ask where things stand.
What phone do I need to use Flux?
The Flux member app is available on iOS and Android — search "Flux" on the App Store or Google Play to download it.
What does Flux actually replace for our fund's administration?
Manual reconciliation, printed statements, and spreadsheet-based member records. Flux gives your fund one real-time system of record for contributions, balances, and claims — for your team and for your members.
How does contribution reconciliation actually work on Flux?
Contributions are matched against payroll and bank records automatically as they land, and posted straight to each member's balance — no manually matching a bank statement to a payroll file line by line.
How long does it take to migrate our fund onto Flux?
Our team imports your existing member records and contribution history so there's no gap in service. Exact timelines depend on your fund's size and how clean your current data is — we scope that out in the initial consultation.
How is our members' data secured on the platform?
Bank-grade encryption, and access limited to authenticated members and your authorised administrators — no one else can see individual balances. Full detail is on our Security page.
What can our board see on Flux that we can't get today?
A live, reconciled ledger of every contribution, refund, and exit — not a month-end PDF. You can see exactly where the fund stands the moment you open the dashboard.
Does Flux handle our regulatory reporting to IPEC for us?
Flux doesn't replace your fund's own reporting obligations, but it gives you clean, exportable records on demand — so putting a return together takes minutes, not a week of chasing numbers.
What does Flux cost our fund?
Pricing is quoted per fund, based on membership size and complexity. It's always free for your members — book a consultation and we'll put together a quote for the fund.
Can Flux support a micro-pension option for informal or self-employed members?
Yes. The platform supports small, irregular contributions — cash, mobile money, or bank transfer — so your fund can extend a micro-pension option to informal-sector or self-employed members without building separate infrastructure for it.
